"Palace of Sports "Ukraine"

Lviv Palace of Sports “Ukraine” is the only sports facility of this type in the whole region. Several years ago, the city authorities leased the property to the Association of Trade Unions of Lviv Region for development of tennis, but today the building is not used for its intended purpose. Instead of sports competitions, commercial exhibitions and fairs were often held at the Palace of Sports.

Reconstruction of the Palace of Sports “Ukraine”, the main purpose of which is to create the conditions for playing tennis throughout the year, as well as to become a venue for competitions at Lviv, Ukrainian and international levels. The reconstruction project of the Palace of Sports “Ukraine” envisages the modernization and preservation of the existing building, development and use of the territories from the side of Melnyka and Efremova streets with detailed design of public space with recreation areas for adults and children. Moreover, during the project implementation modernization of landscaping is expected, as well as erection of the building with the preservation of six tennis indoor courts.
